Mother Nature Strikes Again!!
We are going to reschedule the 2nd anual WEP Cancer ride due to the call for rain for the entire weekend. For anyone who would still like to chance it, you are still welcome to come out and ride if you like, but the scheduled events will be rescheduled to a later date.
ASK AND YE SHALL RECIEVE
We asked for the SUNSHINE and here it is!! Just in time for riding season.
I have to apologize for being behind on updating the website, it has been a crazy spring.
I wanted to let everyone know that the DD Ranch is now a proud affiliate of ACTHA, and we will be hosting rides throughout the season.
Our 2nd anual dogwood ride is comming up on the weekend of April 24 and 25, 2010. We will be riding out from the campground on Little Indian Creek to Rye Creek Road to our new private 1300 acres of trails. There we will make our way to the Edwards Place to wet our whistle by the lake, and get a little snack. Then back to the campground for some of Pappa D's world famous Smoked Pork and the fixns!!
Then kick back for a relaxing evening, enjoy the music, or dip your toes in the cool springfed creek. Then join us for breakfast the next morning if you like.
The ride and food will be $25 per person, all profits for the day will be donated to the Siteman Cancer Center.
Camping and stall rental is and additional cost, and there is a $10 trail use fee for Sunday riding. Please contact Dinell at 314-503-7494 for questions or to make reservations.
HAPPY TRAILS
I have heard that Mother Nature has been affected by the economy like the rest of us, and all of her weather machines are in dire need of repair!!
It has been cold, and snowy, then muddy then starts over again!! Hopefully we are on the down hill climb though and we should be on our horses again in no time.
We had not decided what to do about a St.Patrick Day ride this year because of the unpredictable weather conditions. I am looking for input from you die hard horseback riders to help me decide if we want to plan something or not.
The next for sure planned ride will be our 2nd Annual Dogwood ride. This ride will benefit the Siteman Cancer Center. Last year our proceeds were around $750.00. We were a little short of our goal of $2000.00 which was the cost to purchase a plaque in memory of my father William E. Pyle who battled Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and was treated at the Siteman Cancer Center for 10 years. The Staff at the Siteman Cancer Center were responsible for giving us the additional time with him, and we want to help give the same gift to other families. The gift of life is priceless, and if you can meet some new friends, have a good time on your horse, and eat some great food, and be a part of giving the gift of life what more could we ask for?? The weekend of April 24th and 25th. Make your reservations now!!
The leaves are falling, and winters on its way. Deer season has started!! Check out our hunting page for prices on deer hunting, turkey hunting, and small bird hunts.
We are in the works of planning our trail riding events for 2010, and we are looking for suggestions from our guests!! Drop me a line with your thoughts!!
Please join us at the DD Ranch for Food, Fun, Friends, and Fear!! Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through the month of October. For those of you trail riders we will be camping, and riding during the day. We will be offering additional activities in the afternoon and evenings to compliment the haunted hay rides. Sign up now for the Chili Cook off that will be held all month, with the finals being the last weekend in October!! Costume contests for you and your horse. Musical entertainment, Great Food, and so much more!! Don't miss this!!
